The Leaky Buckets are the fulfilment of a 49 year old dream, conceived in 1967 in Dar-es-Salaam by two 21 year olds who had to wait until they had both taken early retirement before they were able to put their plan into action. The big problem was that one hadn‘t played the drums for 40 years and the other had never played the guitar. Now, seven years later, aged 70 they hope to be an inspiration to others that you are never too old to ‘live your dream’.
Follow the story of the Leaky Buckets as two OAPs attempt to carry out a promise they made to each other 49 years ago.
Although they grew up locally (Keith is Brighton born and bred and John is Lewes born and bred) they didn’t meet until they were living, and working for VSO, in Dar-es-Salaam in 1967.
